Part II: Table Game Cheating · Dice & Craps Cheating Methods

Pressing (Adding to Winning Bets)

PressingSkill: Intermediate

How it works

The inverse of pinching - the player adds money to their active wager after determining they have a winning hand. If the player uses their cards or hands to cover up or block the view of their active wager, they may be pinching or pressing. In craps, this occurs when a player adds chips to a winning line bet or place bet after the dice have already stopped but before the dealer pays. The player hopes the dealer will pay the inflated amount without noticing the addition.

On the record

Often performed by the same cheaters who pinch - the combination of removing from losers and adding to winners creates a massive swing in expected value.
